Aim of this blog: The aim of this blog is to provide actual information of Occupational safety, health and environment to safety professionals and who likes to understand about occupational safety, health and environmental issues.

The statistics of occupational accidents in each country is horrible. After the implementation of the acts there found occupational accidents are possible to reduce significantly.
The first Safety acts implemented in Britain in 1802.
Following the enactment at each country that saved many lives.   This globalized era  using a lot of sophisticated tools, machines and automations. Using many hazardous substances, employees working from different countries, in different environmental conditions.
In all activities there is a chance of an accident it is like a shadow of an object. Accidental chance we can eliminate with the proper suitable and sufficient control measures.
Following an accident we facing 3 types of losses.
Moral: The employee and his kith and kin facing a lot of mental and physical agonies. Sometime victims losing their life, limbs etc, there is happening a disturbance on human rights.
Legal: employer to be faced many national and international legal proceedings. Might be civil or criminal legal issues like imprisonment, compensation etc.
Financial: Employer or victim to be spends a lot of money to reinstate the situation. Most of the expenses are uninsured cost. Studies shows that 8 to 36 times the cost is uninsured than the insured cost.  
98% accidents are happening due to the un safe act of persons or un safe conditions of work place. 2% only happening due to the unexpected ways.
A proper health and safety management system implementation will help to eliminate or reduce the Occupational accidents, Ill health and environmental pollutions.
How an Accident or Incident or Near miss can eliminate:
Accident: An unplanned or unexpected event which results some kind of loss
Incident/near miss: An un planned or unexpected event which had the potential to result some kind of loss

Hazard: Anything cause to Harm
Risk: Risk is the likelihood that realize any harm from any particular Hazard
Control measures: The measures which applying to eliminate the hazard or reduce both the likelihood and severity of risk or either likelihood or severity of the risk.
The Prime quality of a Safety professional is the ability to identify the hazard of a work place, identify the risks and implement suitable and sufficient control measures.
